Richard Rusczyk
Art of Problem Solving was founded by Richard Rusczyk in 2003 to create interactive educational opportunities for avid math students. Richard is the author or a co-author of 7 AoPS textbooks and a past Director of the USA Mathematical Talent Search. He was a participant in National MATHCOUNTS, a three-time participant in the Math Olympiad Summer Program, and a USA Mathematical Olympiad winner (1989). He received the World Federation of National Mathematics Competitions Paul Erdös Award in 2014. He graduated from Princeton University in 1993, and worked as a bond trader for D.E. Shaw & Company for four years. AoPS marks Richard's return to his vocation - educating motivated students.
Glen Dawson
In 2014, Glen founded a learning center in Morrisville, North Carolina, that two years later became the first AoPS Academy campus. Glen served as the National Director of AoPS Academy until his retirement in 2019. He has experience as a college math professor, statistician, and expert SAS programmer. He has been a professional math tutor for many years, and specializes in training academically-advanced and high-performing math students. Glen is a graduate of Duke University and holds a graduate degree in statistics from Boston University.
David Patrick
Dave joined AoPS in 2004. He is the author or a co-author of 4 AoPS textbooks. Dave earned the sole perfect score on the American High School Mathematics Examination (AHSME) in 1988 and was a USA Mathematical Olympiad winner that year. He attended the Research Science Institute (RSI) in 1987, and the Math Olympiad Summer Program in 1988, where he first met fellow student Richard Rusczyk. He also finished in the top 10 on the Putnam exam in 1991. Dave graduated from Carnegie Mellon in 1992 with a BS in Mathematics/Computer Science and an MS in Mathematics. He went on to earn his Ph.D. in mathematics from MIT in 1997. He was an acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington from 1997 to 2001. Dave is originally from Western New York and is an alumnus of the SUNY Buffalo Gifted Math Program.

Teo Word
Teo often helped friends with studying math. While in college, he continued this habit and began tutoring math professionally. Teo loves solving problems, however inconsequential, and he's excited to share this joy with students by expanding their access to different mathematical tools and strategies at AoPS. Teo encourages students to engage with the concepts, ensuring that they understand why each step to a solution is important, creating a learning environment where students develop deep comprehension rather than just memorizing procedures.

Joe Feinberg
Joe got his undergraduate degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a branch of applied math focused on the calculation of financial risk. After working briefly in the insurance industry, he decided to pursue teaching instead. He taught English in France for two years and then math at the Lycée Français de Chicago for six years while pursuing a master's in secondary math teaching from Northeastern Illinois University. Joe is very passionate about math and especially the creative aspect of it–its connection to art, but also the creativity of math itself–coming up with a proof or solving a problem in a unique way. He is excited to share that with students at AoPS through their rigorous and interesting curriculum. His teaching style is inquiry-based, facilitating students' learning of mathematics through making discoveries. Joe loves to follow where students' curiosities lead them.
Cindy Andrade
Cindy Andrade holds a BA in Applied and Computational Mathematics and an MA in Teaching from the University of Southern California. She has been teaching for over five years in mathematics and afterschool STEM programs. She is looking forward to continuing to support students in getting excited about math and growing their critical thinking skills. When teaching, Cindy enjoys being the guide for students by allowing them to work on problems collaboratively. She guides students when they reach roadblocks but generally encourages student-led discovery, creating an environment where students feel empowered to explore mathematical concepts together.
Kathleen Caine
Kathleen holds a bachelor's degree in Mathematics from the University of Redlands and a master's degree in mathematics from California State University, East Bay. Kathleen has taught mathematics at the middle school, high school, and college levels, and has also guided pre-service teachers in exploring the "why" behind elementary mathematics. She now leads hands-on STEAM programs for students ages 6-14 and tutors math in local elementary schools. The problem centered curriculum of AoPS is ideal for helping students learn to communicate mathematics. Kathleen loves being a guide on her students' mathematical journeys. She invites her students to wrestle with challenging problems and share ideas early and often. Communication helps solidify understanding in one's own mind as well as allowing students to learn from other's insights.
Keertana Sreekumar
Keertana has a BA in English at UCLA. She enjoys helping students reach their academic potential and is excited to teach at AoPS. Her teaching style is collaborative, as she believes the best learning happens together. She creates an environment where students work as a team, sharing ideas and insights to deepen their understanding through discussion and cooperative problem-solving.
Josephine Dosch
Josephine Dosch has been a K-12 tutor since January of 2024. She is excited to create motivated, determined, self-sufficient students at AoPS. She aims not merely to teach but to teach her students how to think. She means to do more than inform them—she means to enable them to tackle challenges independently and develop the critical thinking skills necessary for lifelong learning.
Tracey Pooler
Tracey is an Elementary Instructor with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies through WGU. She has over 7 years in Elementary education and loves teaching Math and Language Arts. As part of AoPS, her goal is to motivate and inspire students to persevere through difficult problems and find creative solutions through collaboration. She enjoys engaging students in open and thoughtful discussions, tapping into their natural curiosity, creativity and eagerness to learn. She implements a variety of engaging teaching styles to keep lessons interesting, from demonstrating real-life examples to facilitating positive and open conversations to bringing students together to collaborate during lessons so they can learn from each other.
